4. Tutorials that can be run on jedi
The last item is particularily useful. A newcomer is rather helpless when confronted for the fist time
with an OS/390 system. We have developed a series of tutorials that guide a student in a step by step fashion.
After completing them, he should be able to perform some rather sophisticated tasks.
Our tutorials have by now been tested in a number of classes, and in many cases the students were able to complete them
with little or no guidance.
Getting some hands-on experience is an important part of academic education.
